School Open House

Last night was the school open house where Madilynn got to meet her teacher Mrs. Scuffham and see her classroom for the first time. When we arrived there her teacher sent Madi on a scavenger hunt around the classroom.

We found Madi’s desk. We found her cubby.Kimber even helped us find the reading corner.
When we were finished finding all of the other items listed Mrs. Scuffham gave Madi a goodie bag to take home. This is what the note in the goodie bag read:

Kindergarten Kit

This bag contains special things just for you!
The penny is to remind you that you are valuable.
The star is to remind you to always try your best.
The eraser is to remind you that it’s okay to make mistakes.
The lifesaver is to let you know that you can always talk to me.
The tissue is for drying your tears and those of your friends.
The band-aid is to let you know that together we can make things better.
The hug is to remind you that I care for you.
The sticker is to remind you that we always stick together.

We are going to have a SUPER year!
Love,
Mrs. ScuffhamThe bag had all of the little items in it. Madi loved it! We looked at it together and I told her what each item meant. I’m so excited for her to start school for all the fun things that she will learn and the friends that she will make but sad that she is officially not a baby anymore. I am so very thankful that I have been able to stay at home with Madi everyday of her life so I’m sure with her going to school there will be a little bit of separation anxiety (mostly on my part).

I love you Madilynn! I know you will love school!
